Map of Forest Row
(Supplied by Google)
Forest Row, named due to its proximity to nearby Ashdown Forest, is a well populated village in the Wealdon district of East Sussex. It has a very British charm to it, which may well what have been reason enough for former American president John F Kennedy to visit back in 1963 on one of his visits to the UK! Much of the area's character derives from the blending of older style cottages and more modern buildings. Usually, this would create a clashing of architectural styles, but it appears to work well in Forest Row. Not just a pretty place, Forest Row does have plenty to do both in it and nearby:
Deers Leap Bikes
Deers Leap Bikes is only a few miles away from Forest Row in East Grinstead. Here, you and your friends and/or family can rent a bike each at a great price and freely roam, wheelie and speed around its trails. Something a little different to get you all outdoors on a weekend!
Ashdown Llama Farm
Get up close and personal with some new behoofed acquaintances in Forest Row's very own Llama and Alpaca farm! The also have a small number of reindeer for you to meet. Once you're done socialising with these majestic but ever-so-slightly-amusing-looking creatures, there is also a museum to visit as well as a play area.
Hunger Games Training Camp
Ever seen the blockbuster movie? Ever fear that a gameshow where all the contestants have to try and kill each other in order to win, with the competitors being randomly ed from the general public might eventually be a reality? Well, then you'd best get down to the Hunger Games Training Camp and brush up on your survival skills!
...Or you could just go along for a fun and active day out. I think that's what most people go there for...
