The areas around Hartfield may have been made familiar to you without your prior knowledge. Were you ever read Winne The Pooh books as a child? Then thatís how! A young Christopher Robin Milne grew up in Hartfield, and later on, his father, the famous A.A Milne went on to write his classic Winnie The Pooh books featuring him and his adventures with a loveable yellow bear and his friends. There is a bridge in the area that has been restored for the public to view, as it is the bridge where the game Pooh Sticks was invented!
In Hartfield, Pooh Corner is where you can find the largest collection of Winnie The Pooh paraphernalia around, and it is also where you can play Pooh Sticks on the well known bridge itself! And after having a good nose around, you can have a little something at Piglitís cafe.
Storyfest is an annual event held in Hartfield that centres around childrenís stories. Itís a fun few days of readings, workshops and films, and is the perfect treat to inspire and encourage aspiring young writers from an early age!
Treblers PoniesYour kids will be hot to trot when you suggest they give horse riding a go at Treblers Ponies. They have lessons for children of all abilities, and a big number of mild mannered and well trained horses to learn and bond with.
Is your chimney making you cry ďOh, bother!Ē ? If so, let me know and Iíll do my best to help!
