CCTV chimney inspection in Frant
I charge from £60 (March-August) and from £70 (September-February) for a sweep (which must be conducted before the inspection) and £100 for a chimney inspection. About Frant
Frant has a mysterious charm about it – and that’s quite a thing for a chimney sweep to say (traditionally sweeps are associated with folklore). The sense of intrigue may be a throwback to the 17th and 18th centuries when smuggling took place in the village. It was owned by ironmasters in those days of old. Fast forward to today, and villagers in Frant are respectable folks and I find they always greet me with a warm smile when I arrive on their doorstep, chimney sweep brush in hand. In my opinion, something interesting always seems to be happening in the village, and the heart of the community revolves around the church and three cracking pubs: The Abergavenny Arms, The Brecknock Arms and the George Inn.
The history of Frant is clear to see with old Victorian buildings such as the school and in High Street. Excavations have also shown a settlement there before the Normans conquered in 1066. Archaeological evidence suggests there was a road predating the Norman era, from Frant to Crowborough. It’s also thought that people have lived in Frant since 100BC. Saxon chief Aedelberht gave the manor of Rotherfield and Ramslye, part of Frant parish at the time (currently part of Tunbridge Wells), to the Abbey of St Denis in France, according to historical records dating from 742AD.
