Lingfield is an area probably most famous these days for horse racing. Lingfield Park is home to horse racing events from Folkestone to Epsom – a massive area to cover! It has loads of history to its name, including several listed buildings and churches, as well as a punishment cage last used in the late 1700’s to hold poachers. But don’t let that slightly ominous bit of history put you off. Lingfield is by and large an attractive, friendly place that’s well worth a visit!
